Both have thier benifits. If you are more a coder then drupal has some architecture pros while for the rest of us joomla offers a huge extension library to work from. Joomla 1.6 will bring technical advances but it will be interesting to see how Drupal pushes forward in this department.

Well, I prefer Joomla. It is a very popular open source CMS web developer community. Joomla is free to use, and most of the pieces available for free to help contain costs. It is easy to install and configure. Acting in the shopping cart easy to integrate, is popular with the development of e-commerce sites. You can easily create a Joomla site.

Joomla! is a free and open source content management system (CMS) for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets. It comprises a model–view–controller (MVC) Web application framework that can also be used independently.
Joomla! is written in PHP, uses object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques and software design patterns, stores data in a MySQL database, and includes features such as page caching, RSS feeds, printable versions of pages, news flashes, blogs, polls, search, and support for language internationalization.
