Since you have a finite amount of information, bitmaps are not effectively scaleable to larger sizes.
An uncompressed image can be quite large because of the amount of information needed to display all the pixels in the various colors.
Such a file can take a long time to load, send, or receive.

The main disadvantages of the Bitmap graphics is that it is not easily resize the image. You can’t enlarge the image with the quality. The other disadvantage is that the size of the image is very large because uncompressed file contains lots of information of the pixels.

One of the disadvantages associated with a bitmap image is that it does not tend to re-size very well. While it may be easy to scale down an image without loss of clarity.
