Submit your website to search engines
Following are the top 5 search engines to submit your website to. They contribute to 99% of all the search engine searches conducted in 2010. It is strongly advised that you submit a sitemap rather than just submitting your website URL so that the search engine can get a thorough overview of your website, and what pages are more important than others. In my opinion, you only need to add your site to these 5, and get on to link building to increase your popularity with them.
1. Google (71% - 72% search volume in 2010)
Url submit: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
Sitemap: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
Google is by far the most popular choice when it comes to search engines. Just last year 71% - 72% if internet users using search engines to find what they were looking for used Google.
2. Yahoo (14% - 14.5% search volume in 2010)
Url submit: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit (select “submit a website or webpage”)
Sitemap: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit (select “submit site feed”)
Second to Google we’ve got Yahoo!. A well known search engine existing since 1994 which got more than 14% of the search engines user’s attention last year.
3. Bing (9% - 10% search volume in 2010)
Url submit: http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx
Sitemap: http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap= YOUR_SITEMAP_URL
Bing is formerly known as Live Search, Windows Live Search or MSN Search. Bing replaced the formerly mentioned search engines on May 28, 2009 and has a substantial contribution to the search engine category.
4. Ask (2% - 3% search volume in 2010)
Sitemap only: http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap= YOUR_SITEMAP_URL
Ask.com was originally known as Ask Jeeves, where "Jeeves" is the name of the "gentleman's personal gentleman", or valet, fetching answers to any question asked.
5. AOL (1% - 1.5% search volume in 2010)
Url submit only: http://dmoz.org/add.html
AOL (formerly known as America Online) is an American global Internet services company. Their search results are powered by the Open Directory Project (dmoz.org), so the only way to get your website indexed, is to get your site listed with them.

Sites need a permanent plan referencing to maintain and develop the search rankings. Many business owners are busy, and without a plan for effective SEO, they might miss a lot more traffic and customers to their sites. You must have a range of packages for both A and on a subscription basis to take care of your site and make it perform its best.
