Cost-per-click is sometimes used interchangeably, sometimes as distinct terms. When used as distinct terms, PPC indicates payment based on click-troughs, while CPC indicates measurement of cost on a per-click basis for contracts not based on click-through.

The conditions pay-per-click (PPC) and cost-per-click (CPC) are from time to time used interchangeably, occasionally as separate terms. When used as separate terms, PPC indicate expense base on click-through, while CPC indicate quantity of cost on a per-click basis for contract not based on click-through.
